New Hope Ashton

"At New Hope the people are there to help turn your life around - and its worked. This is what Ashton needs - this is what other towns need".

- Brian

current client at New Hope Ashton

New Hope does what it says on the tin. We are a local charity that found its beginnings in the Sunday meals programme which has been running for several years at the Ashton Church of the Nazarene.

Whilst running the meals programme it became obvious that many of our participants struggled with life skills i.e. Basic numeracy and literacy; often through no fault of their own.

We felt that the need had to be addressed and New Hope is our response to this…

New Hope runs a tailor made individual package to suit each member's needs, which usually gives each client a minimum of 6 months with us.

We currently meet

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10am till 3pm.

We work on: Literacy (reading and writing), Numeracy (Basic maths), Cooking, Art, and I.T. (Basic Computer Skills).

The group is run with a friendly atmosphere, and we have found that this warm and informal setting is the secret ingredient which makes New Hope tick. We have even been known to do a bit of gardening from time to time!

New Hope is run mostly by volunteers who bring a wide variety of skills and their own life experience, many of whom are from a social services/teaching background.

There are no fees.

If you know anyone who is interested, or yourself would like to come on New Hope do not hesitate to get in touch.

New Hope is very informal and we try our best to create a relaxed friendly atmosphere with No Pressure.
